    How the Audio Frequency Detector works:

    The detector listens to audio from your microphone and analyzes repeating waveform patterns to estimate the fundamental frequency of the sound.

    Frequency is measured in hertz (Hz). One hertz means one cycle per second. For example, the standard tuning note A4 is approximately 440 Hz.

    The tool also converts the detected frequency into the nearest musical note and shows how many cents the frequency is above or below that note.
    Note: Frequency detection works best with a single, steady tone. Chords, background music, percussion, heavy reverb, noise, or multiple instruments playing at once can make the detected fundamental frequency unstable.

    Tip: Hold the note steadily for a second or two and keep the microphone reasonably close to the sound source. If the frequency reading jumps between notes, reduce background noise, avoid heavy reverb, and try playing or singing a cleaner sustained tone.
