Consecutive detections of the same pitch are grouped together to create longer MIDI notes. Very short detections can be ignored using the minimum note length setting.

Upload a vocal or instrument recording and the tool analyzes short sections of the audio to estimate the fundamental frequency. Each detected frequency is matched to the nearest musical pitch and converted into its corresponding MIDI note number.
For example, a detected pitch near 440 Hz is interpreted as A4, which corresponds to MIDI note 69. Consecutive detections of the same note are grouped together to create a longer MIDI note rather than hundreds of tiny individual notes.
The minimum note-length control can help remove extremely short accidental detections caused by breaths, vibrato, noise, or pitch transitions.
This converter works best with monophonic audio, which means recordings containing one clearly defined musical note at a time. Solo vocals, humming, whistles, bass lines, synth leads, flute, saxophone, and other single-note instruments usually provide better results than full songs or chords.
Audio-to-MIDI conversion is not always exact. Vibrato, reverb, background noise, harmonics, slides, pitch bends, and overlapping instruments can produce extra or incorrect MIDI notes.
Tip: For cleaner MIDI transcription, use a dry recording with one instrument or voice, minimal background noise, and clearly separated notes. You can then open the MIDI file in your DAW and correct timing, note lengths, or occasional pitch-detection errors.
