How does the Audio Watermark Tool work?

Upload your main audio file and a second short audio file containing the watermark you want to add. The watermark could be a spoken producer tag, artist name, company name, station ID, sound effect, or another short identifying sound.

Choose when the first watermark should appear and how often it should repeat. You can also control the volume of both the watermark and the original recording.

The tool mixes the watermark directly into a new copy of the audio and creates a WAV file that you can preview before saving.
Important: This is an audible watermarking tool. It adds a sound that listeners can hear. It does not create an invisible forensic watermark, fingerprint, DRM system, or copyright registration. Audio processing happens locally in the browser and your files are not intentionally uploaded by this tool.
  • An Audio Watermark Tool helps musicians, producers, beatmakers, songwriters, composers, voice actors, and other audio creators add an audible identifying tag to a recording before sharing it.

Upload the song, beat, demo, instrumental, or other audio file you want to protect, then upload a short audio clip to use as your watermark. Your watermark could be a spoken producer name, artist name, company name, website name, station ID, voice tag, or another recognizable sound.

Choose when the first watermark should appear and how often you want it to repeat throughout the recording. For example, you could place your first tag 10 seconds into a beat and repeat it every 30 seconds.

The Watermark Volume control lets you decide how noticeable the tag should be. A quieter watermark can make a preview easier to listen to, while a louder watermark may be more appropriate when you want the tag to be difficult to overlook.

You can also lower the original audio level if the watermark is getting buried underneath loud music.

Once the audio is processed, preview the watermarked version before saving the finished WAV file. Processing happens locally in the browser, so the tool does not intentionally upload the audio to a remote server.

Audible watermarks can be especially useful when sending beat previews, unreleased demos, songwriting references, licensing previews, sample previews, or other audio that you don't want to distribute as a completely clean version.

Keep in mind that an audible watermark is not the same as an invisible forensic watermark, digital fingerprint, DRM system, or copyright registration. It simply mixes an identifying sound into the audio.

Tip: Don't place every watermark at the very beginning of a track. If you're protecting a preview, repeating a short tag at reasonable intervals makes it harder for someone to simply trim the opening seconds and end up with an otherwise clean copy.
