    🎧 How To Get More Consistent Results

    Use good-quality headphones in a quiet environment. Keep your device volume fixed during the test and avoid changing it between frequencies. Test your left and right ears separately.

    Pure-tone audiometry normally measures hearing thresholds at specific frequencies, with the results plotted on an audiogram. Clinical audiometry commonly tests frequencies across approximately 250–8,000 Hz, although protocols can include additional frequencies.

    💡 Understanding the Frequencies

    The lower frequencies represent deeper sounds, while higher frequencies represent progressively higher-pitched sounds. The tested frequencies cover important portions of the audible spectrum, including frequencies relevant to speech and consonant clarity.

    If one ear consistently seems noticeably weaker than the other, or you have difficulty hearing sounds that you previously could hear, consider getting a professional hearing evaluation.
