    31–62 Hz: Deep sub-bass, rumble, and low-end weight.
    125–250 Hz: Bass body, warmth, fullness, and muddiness.
    500 Hz–1 kHz: Midrange body and boxiness.
    2–4 kHz: Vocal presence, attack, definition, and intelligibility.
    8 kHz: Brightness, cymbals, detail, and sibilance.
    16 kHz: Air, sparkle, and very high-frequency detail.
    How the Online Audio Equalizer works:

    Each EQ slider controls a different frequency area. Raising a slider boosts that region, while lowering it reduces that region.

    The tool uses browser-based audio filters to process the uploaded recording. Your EQ settings are applied to the entire file, and the processed result is converted to WAV for preview and download.

    All processing takes place locally in the browser. The audio does not need to be sent to a remote audio-processing server.
    Important: Large EQ boosts can increase the audio level enough to cause clipping. If you boost several frequency bands, lower the Output Level control to leave additional headroom.
  • An Online Audio Equalizer lets you change the tonal balance of an audio recording by boosting or reducing different frequency ranges. Equalization, commonly called EQ, can be used to add bass, reduce muddiness, improve vocal clarity, soften harsh frequencies, brighten a recording, or shape the overall character of a sound.

    Upload an audio file and adjust the individual frequency bands from low bass through high treble. Each slider represents a particular area of the frequency spectrum. Moving a band above 0 dB boosts that frequency range, while moving it below 0 dB reduces it.

    Lower frequencies such as 31 Hz to 125 Hz control much of the sub-bass and bass energy. The 250 Hz to 1 kHz region contains warmth and midrange body, while 2 kHz to 4 kHz can strongly affect vocal presence, attack, and intelligibility. Frequencies around 8 kHz to 16 kHz influence brightness, detail, air, and high-frequency hiss.

    The included EQ presets provide quick starting points for bass boost, vocal presence, warmth, clarity, treble enhancement, and other common tonal changes.

    Keep in mind that EQ cannot restore information that was never captured in the original recording. Extreme boosts can also increase noise or cause clipping.

    Tip: When equalizing audio, try cutting an unwanted frequency before heavily boosting another one. Small changes of 1–3 dB are often enough to make a noticeable improvement while keeping the recording sounding natural.
