An Online Metronome is a simple but powerful music practice tool that helps musicians maintain a steady tempo while practicing, rehearsing, recording, songwriting, or performing. Instead of relying on a physical metronome, you can use this browser-based metronome directly from your computer or mobile device.
Set your desired BPM (beats per minute) using the slider or the plus and minus controls. The metronome supports a wide range of tempos, making it useful for everything from slow vocal exercises and ballads to fast instrumental passages and dance music. You can also select different time signatures, including 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8, and 12/8.
The first beat of each measure is accented to make it easier to hear where each bar begins. Visual beat indicators also provide a helpful reference while practicing.
The Tap Tempo feature is especially useful when you hear a rhythm or song and want to quickly estimate its BPM. Tap along with the beat several times and the tool calculates an approximate tempo.
A metronome can help improve timing, rhythm, pocket, consistency, and overall musical accuracy. Try practicing scales, chord changes, vocal exercises, drum patterns, or entire songs at a slower BPM before gradually increasing the tempo.
Tip: Don't always practice at full speed. Start at a comfortable tempo where you can play or sing accurately, then gradually increase the BPM as your consistency improves.
