• 🎤 Lyric Analyzer

Analyze your lyrics for word count, syllables, rhyme patterns, repetition, vocabulary, line length, and overall songwriting structure.

  • A Lyric Analyzer can help songwriters, rappers, singers, and producers examine the structure and characteristics of their lyrics. The tool looks at factors such as word count, line count, approximate syllable count, vocabulary variety, repetition, rhyme density, and average line length.

Analyzing lyrics can help you identify patterns that may not be obvious while you're writing. For example, a lyric with very long lines may be difficult to fit into a melody, while a lyric with very little repetition might benefit from a stronger recurring hook.

Rhyme density can also provide useful information. Some songs rely heavily on perfect rhymes, while others use slant rhymes, internal rhymes, conversational phrasing, or very little rhyme at all. There isn't one correct approach—the goal is to understand what your lyrics are doing.

The analyzer also looks at word repetition and vocabulary variety. Repetition can be extremely effective in choruses and hooks, but excessive repetition throughout an entire song may reduce the amount of new information being communicated.

Tip: Use the analyzer as a songwriting diagnostic rather than a scorecard. A song doesn't need a high "lyric score" to be great. Some of the most memorable lyrics are intentionally simple, repetitive, conversational, or unconventional. The most important question is whether the words communicate the emotion, story, and idea you want the listener to remember.
